The library as a therapy resource

Scenic shot of the beach with waves hitting the rocks.

Libraries are full of awesome resources and books we can use in therapy. This little nook in our local library is one of my favorite spots! I like to pick out new books every few weeks and sit in this nook and admire my collection before checking out. These books are not only used to teach specific speech and language skills, but to {hopefully} cultivate a love of reading in each child

Studies show by the age of two, children who are read to regularly display greater language comprehension, larger vocabularies, and higher cognitive skills than their peers. This information along with additional literacy statistics can be found on bookspring.org
